gossip, but she has always ignored this negativity, focusing on her
job, her role as a foster parent, and her daughter. She considers her
daughter, who earned her Master’s Degree from UMass Boston, to be
her greatest accomplishment in life.

identifies with her favor poem “Barbie Doll” by Marge Piercy.
This poem was published in 1971, it brakes her heart to see that 41
years later women are still victim of the unrealistic beauty
expectations. Society wants to change women for them to be accepted.
Her favor quote was taken from a religious book “One who overcomes
others has physical might; One who overcomes the self is strong.”
